About Athina

First and foremost, I seek to interact with my clients as fellow human beings, neither below nor above them. Your story, history, and struggles deserve to be listened to with respect and openness. In therapy, my job is to extend support, understanding, and empathy wherever life finds you and to help you explore and implement goals.

Life can be gut-wrenching and heartbreaking at times. As someone who has undergone a faith transition, divorce, and trauma, I get this at a lived-experience level. You don’t have to suffer in silence, nor alone.  Reaching out for help can sometimes be scary and vulnerable; I’m proud of you for making it to this brave step!

I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor intern and candidate for a Masters of Counseling at Saybrook University, expected graduation May 2025. I serve as the treasurer of my program’s Queer Alliance Collective, a group of LGBTQ+ folx and their allies and am passionate about advocacy for people of marginalized backgrounds, especially those living in poverty and indigenous peoples. I am trained in basic CCPT, Child Centered Play Therapy, and TF-CBT, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Some of my favorite things include creative writing, dance, traveling, Bernese Mountain puppies, philosophy, reading, and spending time in nature.

I feel honored to share in all my clients’ journeys!
