About Jen
Jen is passionate about advocating for individuals, couples, and families. She has provided care to those in need for over 15 years. She received her Master of Social Work from Utah Valley University (UVU) and her Bachelors of Family Science at UVU where she graduated summa cum laude. As a Certified Rape Crisis Counselor, she has worked extensively with survivors of rape and sexual assault. Jen uses a trauma informed approach as she assists her clients in navigating the storms of life.
Jen strives to create an environment where her clients feel safe and supported no matter what they are experiencing. She understands that life is hard and that change can be scary. Her desire is to help people heal from past experiences, strengthen their relationships, challenge their thinking, discover their strengths, become empowered, and realize their potential. Jen believes in the importance of self-compassion, self-acceptance, and inner peace.

Jen has worked with numerous clients with complex trauma and relationship struggles, including the relationship with oneself. She has seen therapy transform individuals, marriages, and families. She has developed therapeutic skills that address childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, women's issues and empowerment, life transitions, communication, and grief. Jen has completed specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist – Individual (CCTS-I), Domestic Violence, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills, and is IFS-Informed (Internal Family Systems).

Jen is a Certified Wellness Instructor and has created curriculums for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and teens experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression. She has significant experience offering psychoeducation in the community and facilitating group therapy. Jen loves working with people of all ages and in a variety of settings. Her unique experiences provide her clients with a sense of safety, connection, and optimism for the future.

Jen has been married to the love of her life for over 25 years, has 5 children and 2 grandchildren. In her free time she enjoys hiking in the mountains, running local trails, and paddle boarding on the lake. Jen believes nature brings balance to one's life and is an important part of self care. She grew up on the east coast near the Atlantic Ocean, so relaxing on the beach is one of her favorite pastimes and places where she loves to continue making memories.
