About Jen

"You don’t have to do it alone. Seeking help is a sign of strength, and together we can navigate a way forward." - Jen

Jen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Owner of Course Counseling. She is passionate about walking alongside individuals, couples, and families as they navigate life’s most challenging moments. Her approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and the unwavering belief that healing is possible—even when life feels overwhelming or stuck.

Jen specializes in working with clients who have experienced trauma, including complex and relational trauma. She understands how deeply these experiences can affect a person's sense of self, relationships, and overall well-being. Healing from trauma takes time, and Jen provides a safe, supportive space where clients can process past pain at their own pace. She also supports clients navigating anxiety, depression, grief, loss, and addiction. Whether a client is processing the weight of past experiences or dealing with present-day struggles, Jen believes there’s always hope for healing and growth.

Together, Jen and her clients explore behavioral patterns, develop coping strategies, and restore balance. For those struggling with addiction, she helps them break free from harmful cycles and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.

For couples, Jen offers Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a deeply effective, research-based approach that helps couples move from conflict to connection by strengthening emotional bonds and creating a sense of security in the relationship. Grounded in the belief that trust and intimacy are rebuilt through safe, vulnerable emotional expression, EFT provides a clear path toward healing disconnection. Jen has completed advanced EFT training, including the full Core Skills series, and brings a compassionate, attuned presence to her work with couples at every stage—from those working through the painful aftermath of infidelity to those preparing for marriage and wanting to build a strong emotional foundation.

Whether healing from betrayal, repairing long-standing patterns, or taking a proactive step toward deeper connection, Jen helps partners explore underlying emotional needs, rebuild trust, and move forward together. She also works with couples to navigate challenges related to sexual health and connection, helping to deepen their bond and improve intimacy.

Jen's therapeutic approach is rooted in evidence-based practices and shaped by extensive training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Trauma-Focused CBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and DBT skills. She tailors therapy to meet each client’s unique needs, story, and goals, combining clinical expertise with genuine care and empathy in every session.

Outside of her work, Jen finds joy and grounding in nature. She loves hiking, running, paddleboarding, and feels most at peace near the beach, where she grew up on the East Coast. She’s been married to her best friend for over 26 years and is the proud mom of five children and two grandchildren. These life experiences continue to shape the heart of her work: helping people feel seen, supported, and empowered as they find their way forward.

If you’re looking for a therapist who will truly listen, honor your experiences, and walk beside you with warmth and expertise, Jen would feel privileged to work with you.
