Child Therapy
A warm, supportive space for children ages 6 to 11 to explore their emotions, build confidence, and work through life's challenges.
Children experience the world differently than adults, and the challenges they face at home, at school, or in friendships can feel overwhelming without the right support. When kids struggle to express what they are feeling, those emotions often show up as behavior changes, anxiety, withdrawal, or outbursts that are hard for families to navigate alone. Child therapy at Course Counseling offers a safe, age-appropriate space where children ages 6 to 11 can explore their feelings, develop healthy coping skills, and begin to make sense of their experiences. Our therapists are trained to work with young children using play-based and creative approaches that meet kids where they are.

What to Expect:
Child therapy looks different from adult therapy. Sessions are designed to be engaging and ageappropriate, often incorporating play, art, and creative expression as tools for communication. Children do not need to talk through their experiences the way adults do. Their therapist is trained to understand what they are communicating through how they play and what they choose to express. In your child's first session, the therapist will spend time getting to know your child and understanding what has brought your family to therapy. Parents are an important part of the process. Your therapist will check in with you regularly, share observations, and offer guidance on how to support your child between sessions
