If your child is struggling with big emotions, behavioral changes, anxiety, or something difficult has happened in their life, therapy can help. Early support can make a difference. If you are unsure, reaching out for a consultation is a good first step.
Not in the way adults typically think of therapy. Child therapists are trained to work through play, art, and creative activities that allow children to express and process their experiences naturally. Your child will not be put on the spot or asked to explain things they are not ready to share.
Parents are an important part of the process. Your therapist will check in with you regularly to share observations, discuss progress, and give you tools to support your child at home. Depending on what your child is working through, some sessions may include parent participation.
Research shows telehealth can be just as effective as in person therapy for many concerns. What matters most is the fit between you and your therapist, not the format of the session.
Just a private, quiet space, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone, like a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer.
Yes. Many clients move between the two depending on their schedule or what feels right at the time. Your therapist can help you figure out what works best.
Coverage depends on your plan. Many insurance providers now cover telehealth the same as in person visits. Visit the Rates and Insurance page for current details or contact us directly.
Our therapists generally work with adolescents starting around age 12 through 18, with some flexibility depending on the therapist and the teen's needs.
Confidentiality is an important part of building trust with teens, so specifics generally stay between your teen and their therapist. Your therapist will talk with you about how updates and any safety concerns are handled before therapy begins.

This varies by couple, but many complete premarital counseling in a handful of structured sessions leading up to the wedding. Your therapist can help you plan a timeline that fits your date.
Not at all. Premarital counseling is a proactive step for any engaged couple who wants to build a strong foundation, regardless of how the relationship is going now.

This depends on your family's goals. Some families see meaningful change in a few months, others work together longer, especially with more deeply rooted patterns. Your therapist will check in with you regularly about progress.
Not necessarily. Many sessions include the whole family, but your therapist may also recommend meeting with specific members individually depending on what's being addressed.

This depends on your goals. Some couples see meaningful change in a few months, others work together longer, especially when rebuilding trust after something significant. Your therapist will check in with you both regularly about progress.
Most sessions include both partners together. Occasionally your therapist may recommend an individual session as part of the process, but the work is centered on you as a couple.
It depends on your goals. Some couples prefer the concentrated progress of an extended, focused session over several weeks of traditional sessions, especially when working through something specific. Visit our Therapy Intensives page to see options and pricing, and your therapist can help you decide what fits best.
There is no single timeline, since it depends on what you are working through and your goals. Some clients notice shifts within a few sessions, while others are addressing longer standing patterns that naturally take more time. Many start weekly, then space sessions out as they build the tools they need. Your therapist checks in with you regularly and adjusts the pace together with you.If you are looking for a more concentrated option, our Therapy Intensives offer extended, focused sessions, from a single extended appointment up to a half day format, which some clients prefer over traditional weekly sessions.

A therapy intensive is an extended therapy session designed to provide deeper, more focused therapeutic work than traditional weekly sessions. At Course Counseling, intensives range from 80 minutes to a half day and are offered exclusively by our licensed practice owners in Spanish Fork, UT.
Therapy intensives are ideal for individuals and couples who feel that weekly therapy is not providing enough space for the depth of work needed. They are especially helpful for those navigating trauma, emotional overwhelm, relational distress, grief, attachment wounds, or long-standing patterns that feel difficult to shift.
Unlike traditional 50-minute weekly sessions, therapy intensives provide extended uninterrupted time to slow down, go deeper, and engage in meaningful therapeutic work with greater continuity. This format allows deeper emotional material and relational patterns to emerge more organically, creating opportunities for meaningful shifts that can be difficult to access in standard therapy.
Our therapy intensives draw from advanced evidence-based modalities including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), tailored to each client's unique needs and goals.
Therapy intensive pricing at Course Counseling starts at $280 for an 80-minute individual session with Karen Lee, LCSW. A 100-minute individual or couples intensive with Jen Stobart, LCSW is $350. A half-day intensive (4 hours) with Jen Stobart is $850.
Yes. Couples intensives are available at Course Counseling for partners experiencing recurring conflict, emotional distance, betrayal, communication breakdowns, or unresolved attachment wounds. Sessions are offered by Jen Stobart, LCSW, who specializes in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples.
