About Lorraine
Lorraine believes the therapeutic relationship is a deeply meaningful space built on safety, compassion, and respect. She feels honored to hold space for her clients' stories and to walk alongside them as they work toward healing, confidence, and meaningful change. She takes a compassionate, strengths-based approach to therapy and believes every person carries resilience, wisdom, and the capacity for growth.
As someone with Hispanic heritage, raised by native Spanish speakers and with one immigrant parent, Lorraine brings a personal understanding of culture, identity, belonging, and the experience of navigating more than one cultural world. This perspective informs her respect for each client's unique story, background, lived experience, and the courage it can take to find one's voice.
Lorraine earned her Master of Social Work from Boise State University and also holds a master's degree in Natural Resources from Utah State University. Her deep connection to and knowledge of the natural world shape her perspective, and her approach is nature-informed. She believes that, in an increasingly busy and distracted world, nature provides opportunities for reflection, restoration, and deeper connection with ourselves and those around us.
Lorraine brings a rich and varied background to her clinical work. She continues to co-own a family renewable energy consulting business with her husband of more than 30 years. Through decades of business ownership, family life, and community involvement, she has gained a deep appreciation for communication, resilience, problem-solving, relationships, and the many systems that shape people's lives.
Her clinical experience includes working with adults in a 90-day treatment program at the Utah County Jail, where she provided individual support and facilitated trauma-informed groups. She has also worked with neurodivergent adolescents in a residential treatment center. She has served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer, advocating for children and families involved in the child welfare system.
Lorraine has worked with clients navigating trauma, complex trauma histories, addiction, anxiety, depression, shame, self-worth challenges, emotional regulation, relationship concerns, and major life transitions. Her approach is client-centered and collaborative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety, and other evidence-based practices.
Outside of work, Lorraine enjoys hiking with her dog, botanizing, rockhounding, photographing nature, and spending time with her family. She is the proud mother of three amazing sons, is grateful to share life with her wonderful husband, and treasures close family connections, including the unique bond she shares with her identical twin.
