Premarital Counseling
Build a strong foundation before you say "I do"

Ways We Support Engaged Couples
Our therapists use structured, evidence based approaches to help engaged couples prepare for a lasting marriage. We support couples in:
-
Building healthy communication and conflict resolution skills
-
Understanding each other's expectations around finances, family, and roles
-
Identifying and working through areas of difference before marriage
-
Strengthening emotional and physical intimacy
-
Discussing values, faith, and long term goals as a couple
-
Preparing for blended family or step family dynamics, where applicable
Whether you're newly engaged or have been planning for a while, premarital counseling helps you start your marriage on solid ground.
What to Expect:
Premarital counseling is typically structured differently than ongoing couples therapy, often focused on specific topics like communication, finances, and expectations. Your therapist will guide you through these areas together, at a pace that fits your timeline, helping you identify strengths and any patterns worth addressing before the wedding.
Sessions typically run about 50 minutes, usually weekly or every other week, either in person or by telehealth, scheduled around your wedding planning timeline. Both partners attend together throughout the process.
