Therapy Modalities
Evidence-based approaches tailored to you,
in Spanish Fork and across Utah via telehealth.
At Course Counseling, we believe that effective therapy is not something that looks the same for every person. Our therapists are trained in a range of evidence-based approaches so we can tailor treatment to your unique needs, goals, and history. Whether you are working through trauma, navigating relationship challenges, managing anxiety, or building emotional skills, the right approach can make a meaningful difference.
Below you will find an overview of the most common modalities our team draws from. Many of our therapists blend more than one approach depending on what fits best for you.
ART
ART, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, uses guided eye movements to help you rapidly process painful memories and release their emotional charge, often in just a few sessions.
IFS
IFS, Internal Family Systems, helps you develop a compassionate relationship with all the different "parts" of yourself so you can heal from within rather than fighting against your own thoughts and feelings.
EFT
EFT, Emotionally Focused Therapy, is an attachment-based approach that helps individuals, couples, and families identify and reshape the emotional patterns driving disconnection and distress.
CBT
CBT, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, is a structured, goal-oriented approach that helps you identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns so you can change how you feel and respond
EMDR
EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, uses bilateral stimulation to help your brain fully process traumatic memories and reduce their emotional intensity over time.
Seeking Safety
Seeking Safety is an evidence-based treatment designed to help people address trauma and substance use together, focusing on coping skills and building a sense of safety in the present.
